Lahaina Canoe Club welcomes all Maui businesses to participate in its annual fundraiser.
Lahaina Canoe Club would like to invite island businesses and organizations to compete in outrigger canoe races on the shores of canoe beach / Hanakao’o Beach Park. This great team-building event gives access to outrigger community, exposure to the culture and supports a culturally significant non-profit organization.
Details
- Pre-Register by email: info@lahainacanoeclub.com
- Registration 8a-9a / Race lanes determined by time of registration
- Lahaina Canoe Club will supply the canoes, the steersman, and paddles for each race
- Personal paddles not allowed except for steers-people
- Steerspeople are assigned to lanes; changes not permitted
- Participating businesses / organizations supply crew members
- Race course: approx. 1⁄4 mile, flag to flag, no turns
- Parking at Hanakao’o Beach Park (canoe beach) and surrounding beach parks
- Trophy Ceremony to follow events
Awards
Winners get a beautiful trophy paddle to hang in the place of business for a year! (King & Queen, they receive haku & lei)
Entry Fees
- 1 – 2 crews: $150 each, 3 or more crews are $125 each
- King & Queen of Beach Race: $25
- Fees must be paid before the races. Please bring check payable to Lahaina Canoe Club
Divisions
- Novice Wāhine/ Novice Kanē: (Novice girls & boys) Any person who has not participated in any sanctioned Maui County Hawaiian Canoe Racing Assoc. or Hawaiian Canoe Racing Assoc. canoe race, regatta or ‘long distance’ season
- Novice Hui: (Novice Mix) Consists of at least two female paddlers (of 5) who have not participated in any sanctioned Maui County Hawaiian Canoe Racing Assoc. or Hawaiian Canoe Racing Assoc. canoe race, regatta or ‘long distance’ season.
- Manager Hui 4: One (1) manager required for this race! Remainder of crew of your choice with at least one (1) female paddler, manager must seat 1
- Master Hui / Master Wāhine/ Master Kanē (Mix & Masters): Experienced men and women paddlers, or whoever has what it takes. Master Hui must have 2 women
- King & Queen of Beach: 1-person canoe pull with steersman. At least 4 Studs & Studettes for this – multiple pull-offs if more than 8 entries – Can sign up on pre-registration or sign-up day-of

- Note: Additional heats if more than 5 canoes in a division. Top 3 canoes advance to the championship.
FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE FROM 10A UNTIL 2P
Remember this is a fundraiser for Lahaina Canoe Club so please refrain from bringing company food. Food will be on location and beverages will be available for purchase. Your help in this matter will go a long way to making this a successful fundraising event.
